The ad associates the brand with warm, contemporary family life.  Shows us how to feel the way we would like to feel.  The little girl’s negotiation for a puppy works even though it skirts the edge of children behaving badly.  The message leaves off the usual Cheerios oat bran, heart healthy message but makes a simple, emotional association.  It works unless you are hung up by the interracial couple.
